The Hallifordian - 2016-2017

1 Foreword by the Headmaster Arriving at Halliford School during the summer holidays one of the first things to arrive on my desk was the draft of the Hallifordian, and what a fascinating magazine this is. On reading through the various articles you cannot help but be immersed in the journey through the various performances, lessons, matches, trips and other events that our students, staff, parents and former students have been lucky enough to be involved with. When asked by our most enthusiastic editor, Mr Cunningham, if I would like to contribute a brief forward as the new Headmaster, I must admit I felt a little of an imposter but it was made clear that my words would be as welcome as those of all others who have contributed to this superb record of life at Halliford School. Talking to the members of the Halliford community over the last few weeks it has become clear to me just what being a Hallifordian means to them and the pride that we all share in being members of this incredible school. The Hallifordian captures a wealth of happy memories and I hope that as I work alongside you all as members of the Halliford community we will be able to offer our students many more wonderful opportunities. It is a real pleasure to take on the role as the tenth Headmaster of our School. I very much look forward to getting to know you all and working with you to enable each member of our community to become the very best version of themselves they can possibly be. Good luck for the year ahead. James Davies Headmaster
